When you need an easy envelope....

I very rarely consider envelope size before I make a card. I just make it, and then if I need a an envelope I make one. More often than not, I just use ordinary printer paper. White, 8.5 x 11". Which is what I've used in this example. Sometimes I'll dig out 8.5 x 11 colored cardstock. It's best to use a bone folder instead of fingers in that case.

A friend of mine (Ali) says she hates making envelopes, and I told her I'd show her how I do them. Ya you can measure and make it more perfect using this basic idea, but really, the envelope isn't the fun part, it's the necessary part, (for me anyway :D) so I go the easy route.

It was easier to video it, so this is a new one for me... adding a video to my blog.
I didn't explain as I went, so if anything is unclear, comment and I will edit my post to include more information. (so you don't need to turn your sound on.)

Hope this is useful to some of you, esp you Ali :)

Well now, I think you were nearly all the way through that when I realised I was sitting with my mouth wide open, to busy taking what you were doing in to even breathe or swallow!! ROFLOL.

I'm SO liking that idea Miss Nattie!! Love the video tutorial. I'm definately a seeing in motion kinda gal. Those picture step by step thingies are just not great for me, the Challenged of those among us.

When I get out of bed tomorrow (it's 12.13am here), I'm going to be all over that like a rash!

Nice card too ;-)

Happy New Year!

Oh My! So that's how you did it! When I got your fabulous card, I was looking at your envelope! You have no idea how envelope challenged I am! I thank you for that package from the bottom of my heart! Hugs and Happy New Year!

I was watching this Craft Lab show that they had on the other day and the hostess was soooooo annoying- you'd be much better!

The BEST!!! I love to make cards occasionally and then...realize...hmmm...no envelope! I tried this this morning for an oversize barn card. Worked beautifully. I'm bowing in awe! *grin* Thanks!
