With nothing short to post...

I seem to only be doing large projects lately that have me taking lots of photos. Then I don't find time to sit and write, posting all the photos, so I need to come up with some more short projects!

Here's 1/2 of one, since I don't totally have the finished project quite complete.

I tore down a wall upstairs that made an open room and removed the existance of a hallway. Now, since this project isn't a small one, and replacing the carpet could get expensive, a friend of mine came up with the perfect solution!

Here's the missing wall, and gap in the carpet...

You can see at the bottom of the photo where the doorway was, and the carpet still connects the hall and room. My friend Bepe suggested that I cut out that doorway section and fill the whole gap with a strip of wood floor. NICE solution!!!! No replacing any carpet.

And you know me... ever the cheapskate. So I went in search of wood that was the perfect width, and... I found some. Cedar Fence Pannels! I bought two for less than $3 each, I stained them the dark walnut I stain everything, and then I used my new favorite varnish (Varathane) that I used on the top of my desk. 5 coats. The result is a section of wood that looks so pretty, and is so wonderfully smooth!!

Now I just need to get the walls finished so I can get the wood in place! Should be shortly!!!
